EVENTS
Ballyduff/Ballinvella/Ballysaggart Comhaltas is delighted to be hosting the 2026 Munster
Fleadh Cheoil in the beautiful and historic town of Lismore. Lismore has a distinguished history
with Fleadh Cheoil na Mumhan, having previously hosted the provincial festival in 2000 and
2006. 2026 will mark exactly 20 years since the town last welcomed this prestigious
celebration of Irish traditional music, song and dance.
Fleadh Cheoil na Mumhan 2026, promises to be a celebration of the rich culture and heritage,
that emanates from Co. Waterford. Our aim is to bring the Fleadh back to a small local
community, where it will be a vibrant, prominent and inclusive festival. This year’s Fleadh will
be a major community-wide event, involving local organisations, businesses, volunteers and
residents, with a number of spectacular venues available to use. We will mark the 75th
Anniversary of Comhaltas with a look back at the “Songs & Singers from Ballysaggart” and
also hold a special initiative of a Concert to commemorate the late Seán Ó Sé. The town is
delighted to welcome back the Gig-Rig on the Friday and Saturday night, which will allow us
to display the best that Waterford has to offer in traditional music, song and dance. The
normal Fleadh-week events such as the Singer’s Club night, Pop Up Gaeltacht and extra
Community events, will also take place.
We hope that the 2026 Fleadh will allow visitors and competitors alike, to experience
everything that West Waterford has to offer. We are looking forward to continuing the
tradition of the Fleadh in Lismore, and creating long-lasting memories.
