Launch of Fleadh na Mumhan

Thousands of visitors are expected to attend Fleadh Cheoil na Mumhan 2023 in Tralee which returns the town for the first time since 1978 from July 10th-16th. The Fleadh was officially launched on Wednesday, June 21st in the Meadowlands Hotel by National President of Comhaltas, Eamonn Ó hÁrgáin who is a native of Lixnaw. Other speakers on the night included Ronan Deasy from Kerry Group (major sponsors of the Fleadh); Ann Looney from MTU Kerry North Campus which will host the competitions; Tadhg Ó Maolcatha, Chairman of Munster Comhaltas; Michael O’Shea, Chairman of Kerry CCÉ - Kerry County Board of Comhaltas.; John Lucid, Chairman of the Fleadh Executive Committee and John Stack, Fleadh PRO who acted as Fear an Tí. Also in attendance was Tomás Ó Maoldomhnaigh, Ard-Runaí of Comhaltas, officers of Munster Council of Comhaltas, officers of Kerry County Board CCÉ and representatives of various Kerry and Munster branches. An extensive programme of events is planned for the week, in a number of venues throughout the town.
