’Twas manys a wild night was born of a last minute recording session between Covid lockdowns in October 2020. The country had tentatively reopened with many restrictions still in place and playing music with others was rare. Bewildered with the situation, Alan Finn rang his good friends Joanne Quirke and Paul Clesham to arrange a ‘final’ session before pubs and venues closed again and Skype and Zoom took over. This session turned into a recording session and Fionn O’Hanlon was drafted in to provide accompaniment completing the quartet. A mere three days before the country closed again we travelled to Glanworth in County Cork and took our place in the studio, at a distance may we add! With a quick discussion on the tunes we would play we recorded four tracks.…
